Just imagine a future where households and businesses can generate their own energy and sell it back to the grid, ultimately connecting communities and empowering lives. Are you ready to play your part in an evolving industry?

Ausgrid is on an exciting transformation journey and now is the time to be a part of something big. We are proud to service Australia’s east coast, as a leading business in energy distribution, delivering a safe and reliable electricity supply to more than 1.8 million homes – that’s over four million Australians relying on us every day.

Our vision is simple; for our communities to have the power for a resilient, affordable net zero future.

We take pride in knowing that the work we collectively achieve today, will transform the world tomorrow. We value a culture of working and living safely, being customer focussed, commercially minded, collaborative, honest, accountable, and respectful. Our values are not just initiatives driven by leaders; they define the way we work.

Meet our team!

In a world where you spend more hours a week with your colleagues than your family, it is important to love the team you are in. Energise your career as part of the Network Compliance team at Ausgrid!

Joining our dynamic Network Compliance team, you'll support our programs, undertake industry-leading analysis, and initiatives, all while driving growth, and facilitating the transition to a sustainable, net-zero future.

Take the helm in an exciting role that combines cutting-edge modelling, innovative solutions, and a passion for shaping the future of our industry.

Your new role

Is a safety-first culture important to you? At Ausgrid, safety is not just an initiative driven by leaders in the business, it is embedded in our core values. Our employees progress and develop their career in a safe environment.

As the Compliance Officer reporting to the Field Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and compliance of customer connection projects during the construction phase. This includes coordinating monopoly functions associated with Level 1 contestable works. Additionally, you’ll receive training in Restricted Operating, enabling limited operation of the Ausgrid Distribution Network.

You will be given the opportunity to evolve your career in a business that’s at the forefront of the energy transition.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting on-site inspections of Level 1 ASP construction work and work practices to ensure compliance with all contestable work requirements.
  • Program, coordinate, and facilitate relevant monopoly functions associated with Level 1 contestable works.
  • Undertake incident investigations, and recommend corrective action associated with ASP non-compliance.
  • Complete on-site safety audits of ASP work in progress for compliance with Ausgrid’s safety, environment management plans, and Electrical Safety Rules.

Spark our interest!

Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but we also take into consideration your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in:

  • NSW Office of Fair-Trading Qualified Supervisors Certificate – Electrical.
  • Qualified Tradesmanship - Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent)
  • Class C drivers’ licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Service Provider Accreditation schemes and organisation’s Service Provider Authorisation process.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical distribution network construction, related to construction, operating, testing and maintenance of the electricity system, with an understanding of the organisation’s distribution and sub-transmission system.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards, codes of practice and Electrical Safety Rules.
