About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance checks and promptly address any issues with computers and associated equipment to ensure smooth operation and minimise disruptions to teaching and learning activities.
- Software Installations: Assist in the installation and configuration of new software and updates across various devices, ensuring compatibility and functionality to support educational objectives.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to staff and students for troubleshooting hardware and software problems, offering timely solutions and guidance to enhance user experience.
- Networking Assistance: Collaborate with the Senior Computer Assistant to maintain and optimise the school's network infrastructure, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues and ensuring security protocols are adhered to.
- AV Support: Assist in setting up and operating audio-visual equipment during school events and presentations, ensuring seamless integration and functionality to enhance the overall experience.
- Safety and Compliance: Monitor and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular equipment checks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Documentation and Procedures: Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, procedures, and guidelines for the correct and safe operation of computing equipment, facilitating knowledge sharing and best practices.
Must Have' Skills and Experience:
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
Nice to Have' Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar technical support role.
- Familiarity with networking principles and protocols.
- Experience with audio-visual equipment setup and operation.
- Certification or training in relevant IT fields.
