Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, and mental health and rehabilitation.
We have Casual positions available with experience in customer service, and administration duties to join our Emergency Department.
This is a customer service focused role and the various shifts worked in the department cover all weekdays, evenings, nights and weekends.
You will be the first point of contact for patients. The administration team supports all other clinical teams in the department. This includes our Short Stay Observation Unit, and Paediatrics. We also provide broader support across the hospital including, inpatient ward admissions, transfers, and discharges.
The Emergency Department has over 89,000 presentations a year, making it one of Victoria's busiest Emergency departments.
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate excellent general administrative skills. You will be proficient with a variety of skills in customer service, which require attention to detail, a professional and pleasant telephone manner and excellent keyboard skills. You must be able to demonstrate a caring attitude towards people from culturally diverse backgrounds and also to our veteran community.
