Who we are
We work for an International Bestselling author, who's books are loved by millions of readers around the world. Our main genre is Romance, however, we are looking to delve into other book genres in the near future.
We are a small team of five who work out of our office in Kiama on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. Our office, is a highly collaborative environment and every team member's skills and opinions are deeply valued, effective teamwork is the heart of everything we do.
Who are you
Ideally, you love social media, live and breathe the latest TikTok trends (especially BookTok) and have an eye for detail. You may have formal training or perhaps you are looking to move into your dream role with a growing company. You are motivated, driven and willing to undergo further training. You will have a happy disposition and value professional friendships with your co-workers.
About the role
Working from our office based in Kiama, you will create content for our social media accounts, particularly short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram, with the aim of driving growth on both platforms. You will be working closely under our Social Media manager to assist with our digital and social media strategies. You will also work as a backup for your co-workers by supporting them in various roles such as packing and shipping orders as well as assisting in administrative and creative tasks. This role involves a lot of variety working within the book industry and is an opportunity to gain a wide range of experience. Career advancement opportunities are available for the right person.
Responsibilities:
- Research and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in social media.
- Create compelling and visually appealing content across various social media platforms.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of social media posts.
- Monitor social media channels for engagement and respond to comments or messages.
- Collaborate with our Social Media Manager to develop and execute content strategies.
- Pack and ship orders.
- Support co-workers with a wide variety of administrative and creative tasks.
Requirements:
- Strong creative skills with an eye for detail and design.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools and/or video editing software.
- Proven experience in social media management or content creation is preferred.
- Experience with WordPress websites is preferred.
- The ability to promptly read our catalogue of books is required to effectively communicate with our readers.
- A passion for romance books is a plus.
