About the role
As the Coordinator (Active and Healthy) you will lead and manage the Active and Healthy team and deliver upon the Active Ipswich Strategy 2031. Your focus will be on enhancing the physical activity levels, wellbeing, and nutrition of the Ipswich community.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead, coordinate and manage strategic projects and a multi-discplinary team contributing towards the Corporate Plan vision of a 'Vibrant and Growing' City
- Preparation of businesses cases, project planning and the securement of funding, oversee and manage interdependent projects across council to ensure the successful implementation of the Active Ipswich Strategy
- Provide advice to Council, Committees, Boards, Panels, Councillors, the Chief Executive Officer, General Managers and other managers as required
- Identify, develop and strengthen external strategic partnerships and champion physical activity, obesity and other health related projects in the Ipswich area
- Develop, oversee and report on the Active and Healthy programs of work, including preparation of budgets and performance management arrangements relevant to the Branch
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Possession of a degree in Health Promotion, Leisure, Sport and Recreation, Public Health, Exercise Physiology or similar, or significant progress towards obtaining same
- Possess a current Queensland “C” Class Queensland driver’s licence
- Working with Children Check – Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card

This is a 12 month fixed-term position until April 2025 at Level 7 with a salary commencing at $110,575 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
