Hours per fortnight73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties- Assist adult and child victims of crime by:
- explaining court processes and terminology used by Court personnel;
- describing physical orientation of court layouts;
- providing information about court systems;
- offering personal/emotional support throughout the Court process;
- discussing the impact of Magistrates/Judges decisions
- providing a de-briefing service to victims following court appearances;
- referring to appropriate support services; and
- assisting with the practical details of physically getting to Court.
- Accompany adult and child victims to court, police interviews, medical appointments and support services.
- Develop age-appropriate Policies and protocol materials for the Court Support Liaison Service.
- Represent the Service in the Safe at Home interdepartmental project team and other high level working parties for the Safe at Home program.
- In co-operation with the Offender Risk Assessment and Perpetrator Program gather and exchange information related to child victim safety.
- Provide relevant client information to associated programs and referral to appropriate support services.
- Liaise with, and provide advice to, Divisional Managers, Police, Courts and community based organizations about both client and organizational issues.
- Provide support, guidance, motivation and direction to Court Support Team members in relation to policy and Procedures.
- Provide high level state-wide administrative support to the Victims Support Services.
- Current motor vehicle licence.
