The Coordinator of Pre-Startup Programs will contribute to the day-to-day coordination of high school and University student engagement initiatives within the Integrated Innovation Network (I2N). Tasked with servicing our Pre-Startup programs, and particularly the Startups @ School initiative, funded by the NSW Government, the role involves inspiring students to consider the pursuit of technology-enabled entrepreneurship. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in planning, coordination, and execution of Pre-Startup programs, including logistics, venue bookings, promotion, and participant recruitment.
- Contributing to KPI outcomes for Pre-Startup engagement initiatives, in particular the Startup @ Schools initiative.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with I2N, related parts of University of Newcastle, I2N affiliated entrepreneurs, and high school contacts including career advisors and teachers.
- Providing speaker training for I2N affiliated entrepreneurs.
- Coordinating incursions with high schools across the Lower Hunter and Central Coast region.
- Recording data on student participation and sentiment towards entrepreneurship.
- Reporting on progress and recommend improvements to optimise student engagement.
- Attending relevant engagement events to advocate for University and I2N programs.
- Monitoring project expenditure and processing accounts payable and receivable.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of impact measurement systems.
- Providing guidance and support to team members and interns.
This Fixed Term position is full time at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level and will be primarily based at I2N Hub Honeysuckle (Newcastle City Campus on Awabakal and Worimi land) with travel across University campuses including Callaghan, John Hunter Hospital, Ourimbah and Gosford, and Lower Hunter and Central Coast regions as required for Startups @ School high school incursions.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (education/entrepreneurship) with at least 4 years’ relevant subsequent experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience designing and delivering events, workshops, hackathons, innovation challenges, and/or pre-accelerators, and working with secondary and/or University students and other diverse groups in the delivery of education programs.
- Outstanding organisational skills with a proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, manage projects effectively, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident presentation, facilitation, and workshop delivery skills to deliver program content and manage discussions and activities with program participants.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Knowledge of technology-enabled entrepreneurship / startups, either building one or working in one.
