Overview
Research Services provides strategic and operational support to the University's research programs, and has a crucial role in developing the University's research capability and facilitating the University's research outcomes, through its Schools and Institutes.
An exciting opportunity exists within Research Services, we are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our Graduate Research Services (GRS) Team. The position of Research Student Support Coordinator will work closely with the manager, Graduate Research Services, Dean, Graduate Research, Associate Deans (Research) and dedicated GRS team to manage and coordinate research support services for doctoral and research master candidates, perform quality assurance functions, and strengthen the research culture of the University. The GRS team has responsibility for:
- Monitoring and supporting HDR candidates students and supervisors;
- Enhancing the research culture, collaboration and communication at ECU;
- Coordinating ECU strategic scholarships allocation and management, and identifying new opportunities; and
- Providing analytics and reporting on all matters related to HDR candidates and supervisors.
Key Criteria
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative services and support services in a large organisation. Highly proficient with Microsoft suite of products (intermediate or above Excel skills are desirable).
- Good communication skills and the ability to provide good customer service to achieve quality outcomes for internal and external customers.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to make recommendations based on your findings.
- Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and to investigate and take on board out-of-the-norm suggestions and putting these into practice.
Previous experience in the Higher Education sector, particularly with respect to postgraduate Research Students, whilst not essential, will be well regarded.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
Benefits & Remuneration
This full time ongoing position attracts a remuneration of $88,973 to $95,993 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
