The Opportunity
MIGA is embarking on an exciting journey of growth. We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Accountant who could contribute to achieving this goal by working independently and in strategic collaboration with key stakeholders including other senior managers, their departments, and operational peers to manage and control the operational plan in line with the purpose and the strategic direction of MIGA.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position will be responsible for:
- Financial analysis, accounting, and management of reporting for the Group.
- Supporting the accounts payable process.
- Managing the annual budget process.
- Collection of claims recoveries.
- Assisting with managing the liquidity of the Group
- Designing and building financial models to deliver periodic financial reports to management.
What we’re looking for
Success in this position is characterised by effective collaboration and meaningful contribution to the attainment of both individual and team goals with the ability to build effective relationships across broader stakeholder groups, along with:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in a financial accounting role in commerce or a professional practice.
- Exposure to contemporary business accounting systems.
- Degree qualification in Finance, Commerce, or from a related discipline.
- Qualified in CA or CPA
Although not essential, it is desirable if you have,
- Management accounting experience
- Understanding of and experience within the general insurance industry.
- Experience and knowledge of working for a professional membership association with member interface.
- Experience working in a highly regulated and compliance orientated environment.
