Your contributions will be valued as you help provide first line risk and assurance support within RACQ’s Corporate Services function. This is an active position dedicated to assisting our Corporate Services' business executives and managers in effectively managing risk and ensuring compliance with obligations related to risk management. This role will work closely with our second line risk and audit departments.
As our new Corporate ServicesRisk Advisor, you will take a lead role in supporting the development of our Corporate Services team to enhance their skills and capabilities in risk and compliance management and reporting. Whilst reporting directly into the Corporate Services division, you will also have a dotted line reporting to the Group Risk and Compliance function and will also work closely with other business Risk Advisors across the Group.
We are looking for a strong communicator that can connect and take leaders on a risk journey, building on their existing risk knowledge and experience with ease.
About the role:
- Provide informed, specialist and timely first line-of-defence risk support to our Corporate Services leaders in the development and implementation of strategies and control measures for the active management of risks
- Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Partner with the Group risk and compliance function as required to support directed activities (E.g. incident investigations, 2nd Line of Defence assurance activities, etc.)
- Champion the development and execution of risk initiatives across Corporate Services to develop awareness and capability to support effective change management.
- Support reporting on operational compliance, incidents and identify areas for continuous improvement of our business control environment by using data to generate insights.
About you:
- Significant experience working in risk, compliance, audit or governance, preferably within an Insurance or Banking environment or Big 4 Accounting Firm (minimum 4 years).
- Mandatory completion of Bachelor of Commerce/ Business (or equivalent), and preference for post graduate studies (e.g Chartered Accountant)
- Proven ability to establish rapport with a range of stakeholders through strong communication and collaboration by relaying complex information in a clear and simple manner,
- Ability to adapt strategy to changing internal and external drivers and influence decisions and actions through well-reasoned data insights
- A highly developed aptitude for empathetic reasoning.
- Technical risk management framework expertise.
- Critical analysis of problems to uncover hidden insights with an enquiring mind and inquisitive nature regardless of obstacles.
