Your new role
Are you someone with a strong desire to make decisions based on accurate data and set strong technical standards? Do you want to lead a team that will lay a solid base for future operational and strategic decisions? If so, you could be the right person to lead our newly formed Corridor Management Team within the Civil Operations Department.
This role will lead a small team of Technical Officers to undertake proactive inspections, investigate complaints and build forward work programs for both Capital and Maintenance activities. The team will also ensure that all activities within the road corridors are completed with the appropriate authorisations and to the right standards. With the significant amount of major infrastructure projects about to commence in the region, there are exciting times ahead.
You will be presented with daily challenges and be provided support to build on your existing strengths and add new experiences to your skill set. As this is a newly created role, there is plenty of opportunity to build this role around your unique personality and skills.
This position has a strong technical element so you will be required to hold a Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) qualification with appropriate skills and experience.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising a small technical team
- Ability to drive continuous improvements and performance whilst developing collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Experienced strategic and pragmatic thinker with demonstrated ability to lead change within a team environment.
- Have knowledge of legislation, standards and guidelines as relevant to the role
- Degree qualification in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering – Civil) (Mandatory)
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) (Mandatory)
- Queensland DTMR Traffic Management Design Qualified (Desirable)

Application Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Bachelor qualification in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering – Civil), registered as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and be qualified for Queensland DTMR Traffic Management Design (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a Civil Works environment with the ability to inspire high performance through an inclusive culture.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, document, implement and refine technical standards, operational guidelines and other relevant systems related to road networks.
