The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Cost Controller to join us at the Burswood WA Head Office. We are looking for a self-motivated and hardworking team-player, who is passionate about their work with an obsession for quality. You will enjoy working as part of a team but have an ability to work autonomously when required to ensure that jobs are completed on time and to customer requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing database of standard cost and sell rates
- Translating awarded projects into project revenue and cost forecasts
- Monthly invoicing to clients
- Client interfacing to manage budgets and forecasts
- Reporting on project P&Ls and related internal reporting deliverables
- Analytics support to internal business lines concerning the typical project accounting measures, to drive efficiency in project delivery and future tender pricing
- General advice and support to develop the business management system that governs project tracking
Your Qualifications and Skills
- 3 – 5 years of experience working in a project commercial and finance environment.
- Very high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, in particular extracting data from systems, cleaning, and reporting relevant information for project tracking.
- Knowledge and experience of ERP systems (no specific system required), including an understanding of database concepts that underpin an ERP system.
- Demonstrated experience in in developing a forecast, managing client work orders / purchase orders, invoicing against work orders / purchase orders and reporting to clients and internal stakeholders about progress.
- Demonstrated experience liaising with finance teams and financial accountants to translate project information into a financial accounting framework.
- A tertiary qualification or formal accounting accreditation is not required, our preference is for demonstrated experience in a project environment as outlined above.
