Cost Engineer to join our Infinity rail project.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive cost analyses of existing products and processes to identify areas for cost reduction and value enhancement.
- Apply value engineering principles to optimize product designs, processes, and materials, ensuring improved performance and functionality while reducing overall costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to brainstorm and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend alternative materials, manufacturing methods, and technologies to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Work closely with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, reduce material costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Assess and optimize manufacturing processes for increased efficiency and reduced production costs.
- Conduct lifecycle cost analyses, considering the entire product lifecycle from manufacturing to end-of-life.
- Identify potential risks associated with cost reduction strategies and propose effective risk mitigation measures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of cost analyses, design changes, and improvement initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience- Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Cost, Systems or related field).
- 5+ years of relevant experience in VAVE or Cost Engineering in the product development industry
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in engineering principles, design processes and manufacturing techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards related to product design and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and the ability to develop cost models.
- A continuous learner with a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
