Located 35km west of Toowoomba, the JBS Beef City Plant is part of the Beef City integrated feedlot, processing and farming facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in southern hemisphere. Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 945 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.
About the Role
Our Beef City Plant is currently recruiting an experienced HR & Recruitment Officer to join the HR Team in a full-time capacity (Monday to Friday; 7am to 4pm). Reporting to the onsite HR Manager, your key objective will be to successfully deliver all components of the Plant’s recruitment goals as well as to support the HR Officers in a variety of tasks related to HR. This role is ideal for any HR professionals looking to further develop their knowledge and experience within a large organisation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing recruitment plans by working closely with hiring managers and site HR
- Researching and recommending new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
- Building networks to find suitable passive candidates
- Managing end-to-end recruitment for all site processing roles
- Building relationships with local council and community groups to build engagement and improve local recruitment opportunities
- Attending career fairs to support recruitment and increasing employer recognition
- Performing general HR tasks for the Plant including recruitment, data entry, compiling reports and administration
- Consulting with the Training, First Aid and Payroll departments on a range of issues
- Utilising internal HR systems
- Undertaking general clerical duties including filing, answering telephones, etc.
- Other duties as required
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a similar high-volume blue-collar recruitment role
- Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated collaboration skills and the ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously we well as within a team environment
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Ability to learn new systems and administer HR policies and procedures
- Highly developed time management skills including prioritising and multi-tasking
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on listening and interaction skills
- Good conflict resolution skills
- Flexibility in availability to cover different shift hours, including short notice (when required)
