A little bit about the role
We are looking for a highly experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Credit Manager to join our team at Warwick.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Credit Manager is accountable for assessing loan applications recommended by the lending team. The portfolio is predominantly retail with some small commercial loans. The role is also responsible for leading a small Credit Processing team who process loans to settlement and funding, loan administration and arrears management.
You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, efficiency and productivity of the team, compliance with credit policy and procedures, sound commercial decision-making as well as the management of relevant legislation requirements.
What you can expect
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will:
- Evaluate applicant creditworthiness and process loan applications in an efficient and timely manner.
- Approve loans within Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) and escalate loan applications that are outside those limits to other DLA holders with recommendation.
- Ensure ongoing and timely feedback, coaching, and mentoring and leading direct reports to develop team strengths and encourage development.
- Maintain and/or create Credit Policy and/or Credit assessment processes.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV Credit Management or equivalent (desirable), or previous experience in a similar role, with an understanding of credit (lending) risk including arrears management.
- Sound knowledge of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Code of Banking Practice, and other regulatory and legal considerations.
- Strong awareness and adherence to the control environment including Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence Senior Levels of Management.
