About the role:

Are you ready to embark on an exciting new phase in your career? Compare the Market is seeking an outstanding Credit Policy Analyst to join our dynamic team in Toowong. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our lending policies are not only aligned with industry standards but also optimized to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Your responsibilities will include meticulously reviewing, analysing, and interpreting lenders' lending policies to inform our own practices. You'll play a key role in maintaining the technical data mapping from policy to configuration within our fully digitised Home Loan Platform, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, you'll administer the Policy Decisioning Engine framework, conduct associated reporting, and analyse decisioning tools to enhance performance. Your commitment to adherence to the Platform Change Management process and procedures will be crucial in maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Main duties and responsibilities:

In this crucial role, you’ll play a pivotal role in our continued success by:

  • Reviewing, analysing, and interpreting lenders’ lending policies.
  • Maintaining technical data mapping within our digitised Home Loan Platform, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Administering the Policy Decisioning Engine framework, analysing decisioning tools, and providing associated reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence to Platform Change Management processes and controls.
  • Providing support in legislative/regulatory compliance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Conducting analysis on Housing and Financial Market trends for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and implement enhancements to lending policies.
  • Keeping on top of industry developments and best practices in Credit Policy and lending.

About you:

As our Credit Policy Analyst, you bring invaluable credit underwriting experience gained in a Financial Institution, enabling you to adeptly interpret and apply Lending Policies. Your meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a strong numeracy focus and organizational skills, ensures precision in your work. With your analytical and conceptual thinking, you approach risk with a conservative mindset, ensuring robust decision-making.

While knowledge of ACL Regulations and Compliance Policies is desired, your willingness to stay updated with legislative changes is highly valued. Your adaptability to new technologies and innovative thinking is commendable, complemented by your superior communication skills and professionalism, and your ability to interpret and create formulas is unparalleled.

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Finance, Economics, Financial Markets, Account, Business, or other related discipline
  • Experienced in credit underwriting within a Financial Institution, adept at interpreting and applying Lending Policies.
  • Possess a keen attention to detail, strong numeracy skills, and exhibit highly structured and organised work habits.
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual thinking, with a risk-averse/conservative approach.
  • Knowledgeable in ACL Regulations, Compliance Policies, and Procedures; willingness to stay updated on legislative changes.
  • Adaptable to new technologies and innovative thinking, comfortable with continuous learning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, proficient in business English.
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel, particularly in interpreting and creating formulas.
