FROEBEL Australia is a growing not-for-profit provider of early education and care services in Sydney and Melbourne. We currently operate five Early Learning Centres with a unique educational profile built around immersive language learning, inquiry-based STEM education and sustainability education. We are looking for a part-time Curriculum and Compliance Officer to join our leadership team based at Froebel’s Head Office in the Sydney CBD. Initially, the role is part-time with 15 hours worked across 2 days (or 3 if preferred) with a view to grow into a full-time role (30h negotiable) by the end of 2024/early 2025.

In this role, you will:

• report directly to the Head of Pedagogy and Practice and work closely and collaboratively with the Early Learning Centre Directors and their Administrative Assistants as well as members of our Head Office team,

• be responsible for all aspects of quality management & compliance pertaining to an early childhood education and care services provider, including supporting oversight of the organisation’s operational compliance requirements and policy review/development,

• be responsible for incident and other relevant compliance reporting to the regulatory authorities,

• support and advise our teams, in particular our Centre Directors and Educational Leaders, in striving for excellence in early childhood education and the provision of a curriculum aligned with our organisation’s vision, mission, values and philosophy,

• continuously inspire and drive reflection on best and next practice across all educational teams,

• assist in facilitating our internal Froebel Future Leaders program, designed to build and develop leadership skills and capacities in early childhood educators and teachers,

• develop and deliver internal professional development offerings at service level as well as during our regular Centre Director Meetings.

Our ideal candidate for this role will:

• hold a early childhood degree or qualification,

• have extensive experience in working in an early education and care service/the early childhood sector in roles relevant to this position,

• share an alignment with Froebel’s philosophy and values,

• have demonstrated knowledge of the early childhood sector and early childhood pedagogy, with curiosity for following recent scientific research,

• have specific interest in an inquiry-based approach to early learning,

• have deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including child safe standards,

• have a proven track record in leading, implementing and managing quality, safety and risk management measures including developing and reviewing policies,

• possess strong organisational and project management skills with an ability to work to timelines and be outcome focused whilst managing multiple tasks with attention to detail,

• come with great people skills and enjoys building and fostering relationships and mentoring,

• be available to travel interstate on a regular basis,

• be across most relevant Microsoft Office products and have general tech-savviness,

• be a collaborative team player with a positive mindset, sunny attitude and a can-do-spirit,

• hold a Working with Children Check.
