Customer Logistics Leader

About the role:

This Customer Logistics Leader role will see you lead and develop a team to conduct scheduling and rostering for the Bulk Logistics Division, while maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through fostering an innovative, purposeful and customer-first culture.

• Lead a small team of Customer Logistics Coordinators in executing scheduling and planning best practices.
• Coordinate the development of service and resource plans to achieve objectives provided by senior operational leadership.
• Negotiate, manage, and improve order entry and planning processes across the supply chain to ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly operational schedules are managed and maintained.
• Develop logistics solutions that support customers and ensure available resources are used effectively across the business.
• Lead and coordinate team and cross functional teams in managing changes to service plans, resource allocations, and impact of major disruptions.
• Provide leadership across key decisions regarding operational changes and inefficient work practices to achieve optimum productivity in safe and efficient manner.
• Strategically analyse the full supply chain for opportunities for improvement in collaboration with the customer and internal stakeholders.
• Manage the team to ensure customer queries are effectively dealt with in the first instance in a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring a process is in place for customers and stakeholders relating to service impacts of a 24/7 operation.

About you: 

• Experience in managing business assets to align with best practice and cost effectiveness.
• Relevant experience in logistics/supply chain roles.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to build and effectively manage teams.
• Skilled in developing and providing logistical support within a commercial freight business for large volume movements.
• Extensive level of knowledge of logistics scheduling principles.
• Ability to develop constructive and collaborative relationships across the wide range of internal/external stakeholder supply chain.
• Extensive knowledge of transport operations, Safety Management Systems, Workplace Health, and Safety (WH&S), and quality systems.
• Problem solving and analytical thinking to respond to dynamic and changing business needs.
