Job Description
Reporting to GM Ports, the position includes the following responsibilities:
- Maintain open lines of communication, at all levels internally and externally, of management in client’s businesses.
- Timely management of day to day issues.
- Delivery of required reporting to the State Manager (where required) in a timely manner.
- Complete weekly efficiency measurement reporting.
- Management and development of key market sectors.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and SCT procedures and policies.
- Participate in risk assessments, inspections and operational meetings that involve the Intermodal Container Park.
- Ensure productivity goals are met.
- Involve employees in problem solving and decision making.
- Ensure that tasks are delegated to meet the customer’s requirements and are conducted in a safe manner.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of operational planning and scheduling
- Understanding of and commitment to rail loading procedures
- Understanding and experience of the Port logistics operations and systems
- Several years’ experience in similar role
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to influence, support and motivate staff
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a small team
- Self-motivated and takes pride and accountability in role.
