We are currently seeking a Customs Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
Key responsibilities
- Direct governance and facilitation of the trade compliance programme.
- Management of the flow of cross border activities (import and export) to ensure on-time clearance and adequate resource coverage across business units.
- Develop trade tools and periodic reporting and ensure delivery of information on a regular basis.
- Strategic placement of broker resources to support focused trade lanes for strategic customers.
- Oversight and development of all customs professionals within the organization, including management of human resources from onboarding of licensed and non-licensed customs professionals, through to succession planning.
- Facilitate customer workshops on industry development / updates, including publications / industry updates
- Annual budget and review & preparation alongside VIC General Manager & Commercial Operations Manager.
- Handling customer complaints and trouble shooting.
- Develop efficiencies within the team and customers to increase through put.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience.
- Proven people leadership skills.
- Experience in business development and company operations preferred.
- Sound knowledge of market trends, rates and dynamics.
