Your Role
There is no typical working week at Flybuys. But here are some of the things you might be working on, day-to-day;
- Expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as the data flow and collection for cross functional teams.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and building out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
- Collaborate with wider engineering and analytics teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decisions across the organization.
- Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality & security, and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
- Write unit/integration tests, contributing to engineering wiki, and documentation.
- Build data pipelines and infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Snowflake on an AWS stack.
- Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems, data integrations and data quality framework.
- Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Keep partner data separated and secure within flybuys domain across multiple Snowflake database and shares.
- Collaborate with members of the architecture, engineering and delivery teams (eg, Delivery Manager, Enterprise Architect and software engineers) on the project goals.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability etc.
- Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
Your Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and/or Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience in ETL/ELT, with Data Modeling, Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing knowledge a plus
- Relevant experience in data management technologies such as Snowflake, Oracle and Postgres is an advantage .
- Working knowledge of cloud platform services preferably in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Hands on experience working with SQL, Java, R, Python, Bash or other Scripting languages.
- Experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI is an added advantage .
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile based, fast paced, complex environment within cross functional teams.
- Experience working with analytics and data science team to support the execution of machine learning, AI and advanced analytics a plus.
