Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing effective Data Governance strategies and frameworks. The Data Governance Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Data Governance principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring the security and usability of organizational data.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Governance Strategy:
   
   • Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Governance strategy to align with organizational goals and objectives.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to define Data Governance policies, standards, and procedures.
2. Data Quality Management:
   
   • Establish and enforce data quality standards and guidelines.
   • Conduct regular data quality assessments and implement corrective actions.
3. Data Compliance:
   
   • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
   • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to interpret and implement Data Governance policies.
4. Metadata Management:
   
   • Oversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories.
   • Develop and implement metadata standards to enhance data understanding and lineage.
5. Data Stewardship:
   
   • Define and assign data ownership responsibilities.
   • Collaborate with business units to identify and train data stewards.
6. Data Classification and Security:
   
   • Implement data classification frameworks to identify sensitive information.
   • Collaborate with IT security teams to enforce data security measures.
7. Data Lifecycle Management:
   
   • Develop and implement policies for effective data lifecycle management.
   • Collaborate with data owners to define data retention and archiving policies.
8. Data Governance Communication:
   
   • Communicate Data Governance policies and procedures to stakeholders across the organization.
   • Provide training and support to ensure awareness and compliance with Data Governance standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science).
• Proven experience in Data Governance, data management, or related roles.
• In-depth understanding of Data Governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with data management tools and technologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Professional certifications in data management or governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP, CIMP).
• Experience with Data Governance tools and platforms.
