Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in establishing and maintaining effective Data Governance frameworks, policies, and processes. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Data Governance Specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of Data Governance strategies, providing expertise in data management and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Data Governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define Data Governance objectives and requirements.
- Establish and maintain data quality and integrity standards.
- Conduct data profiling, analysis, and assessments to identify data issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Create and manage metadata repositories, ensuring accurate documentation of data assets.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement data classification and access controls.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Data Governance policies and standards.
- Provide training and support to teams on Data Governance best practices.
- Participate in Data Governance committees and contribute to the overall Data Governance strategy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in Data Governance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Data Management, Information Technology, etc.).
- Proven experience in Data Governance, data management, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and data protection standards.
- Proficiency in data profiling tools, metadata management, and data quality assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant certifications (CDMP, DGSP, CIMP) would be a plus.
