The Opportunity
The Data & Insights team at Ramsay Health Care are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Data Officer to join our Data Governance and Policy team.
The Data Officer is a key role within the organisation, responsible for analysis of the data stored in systems to establish common data definitions, data quality and protection, including managing the data access request process and assisting with Privacy Impact Assessments.
Key Role Accountabilities
Design and deliver training to staff of Ramsay Health Care Australia (RHCA) to raise awareness of data management best practices including considerations for data protection requirements
Participate in data architecture and integration activities to ensure data consistency and accuracy across the whole of RHCA
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data privacy and security across RHCA
Support for Privacy Impact Assessments and Privacy Review
Support for data quality checks and techniques to ensure data accuracy
Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to improve business operations and decision-making
Work closely with the data steward to manage data access requests
Key Skills and Experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Data Management, and/or Data Governance field
Demonstrated experience of data analysis
Understanding of data processing technology like databases, data warehouse, visualisation tools etc.
Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, and work in a low maturity data landscape to help it mature over time
Demonstrated experience working across various stages of the data lifecycle, whether on premises or on the cloud
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven record to engage at all levels of the organisation from the executive to the hospitals
Highly regarded, though not essential
Previous experience of health care setting will be highly regarded
Knowledge of cloud data platforms like Google BigQuery and information security for cloud
Understanding of data modelling and data architecture
Prior experience in implementing data protection policies, assisting with the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) and conducting privacy audits
