About the role:
The Demand Planner is a full-time position, based at North Ryde.
Reporting to Group Demand Planning Manager this role is responsible for creating the best estimate of future volume projection over the 1-24 months horizon in collaboration with sales, customer solutions and marketing groups, through statistical forecasting, market share and intelligence, pipeline and major project inputs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyse and review sales trends on an operational and strategic horizon
- Use a segmented forecast approach across different channels using statistical forecasting and pipeline management.
- Coordinate demand plan inputs from state sales, major projects, marketing, NPD and market strategy.
- Review and sense check baseline forecasts to identify anomalies or exceptions.
- Reviews customer and product segmentation rules and ABC analysis.
- Identify major risks in the demand plan based on market insight and historical forecast accuracy.
- Develop consensus forecast in 1-24 months horizon, with inputs from states.
- Identify and model impacts of alternative demand scenarios to test business unit demand sensitivities.
- Manage demand inputs into monthly cycle and action outputs.
- Facilitate forecast meetings, agree actions and content for the senior leadership team.
- Drive improvements in forecast accuracy and forecast bias
- Review actual performance to plans to identify abnormal demand. Work with market sales managers and major project managers to mitigate customer impacts of demand or supply events.
- Validate demand plans including volume at product family and SKU level and risk and manage adjustments by exception.
- Review and manage sales history cleansing to improve baseline forecasting.
- Comply with WHSE authorities in accordance with the responsibility's matrix.
About You:
- Three years professional experience within demand and forecast management.
- Strong understanding of Commercial drivers to a business demand plan.
- Numerate and systems literate with the ability to manage large amounts of data analysis.
- Good planning, organising and influencing skills, combined with strong attention to detail.
- A team player, able to effectively influence and communicate cross functionally to a senior level.
- Able to meet deadlines with quality output.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Innovative thinking and problem solving.
- Analytical thinking and information seeking.
- Exposure to S&OP / IBP environment would be highly regarded.
