RACV Cape Schanck Resort is currently on the lookout for an experienced and responsible Demi Chef to join their busy team on a Full Time basis. You’ll be essential in assisting our Chefs with the running of the kitchen.
A day in the life:
In this role as a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the effective kitchen operation and working in a team environment.
Our talented team of chefs, operate in a large commercial kitchen servicing multiple outlets in the resort. Our kitchen brigade works to create dishes made from high quality produce sourced from local suppliers. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional and memorable food experience to our guests.
What we are looking for:
- Completed a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery, recognised in Australia
- Previous cooking experience in a 4-5 star hotel/resort commercial kitchen or similar environment desired
- Developed knife, food preparation & cookery skills ie. larder, grill, buffet, short order, fine dining & functions
- Solid knowledge of kitchen sections, service styles, mis en place procedures, food items, cookery techniques, sauces, cold larder, vegetables & butchery
- Thrive in a large, busy & fast paced work environment, with efficiency, organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, can follow direction and work well in a team environment
