The Hospital:

RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatric and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

The Role:
This is an ongoing Part Time position (0.8 FTE) - with the posibility to pick up additional hours within the Dentistry deprtment. We are looking for a Dental assistant to join our supportive and professional multidisciplinary specialist team. This is a great opportunity to gain new skills working with a team of specialists and experienced Dental Assistants. We recognise that our Dental Assistants are critical to the delivery of high- quality, efficient, and effective clinical care.
What you'll achieve:
Actively contribute to the provision of high quality clinical care
Provide clinical chair side support and assist our specialists in an outpatient clinic
See emergency patients as required and assist in theatre as rostered
Prepare, maintain and manage the clinical environment, including equipment, materials, and instrument to ensure efficient and enhanced treatment and patient care
Your skills and experience:
2+ years of experience working chair-side assisting would be desirable
Certificate III in Dental Assisting or Certificate in Dental Nursing
Well -developed communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
