Job description

We have an opportunity for a passionate Deputy Director, Planned Giving, to join the Advancement Portfolio on a 13 month parental leave contract.
As a Deputy Director, Planned Giving you will be responsible for the delivery and continued growth of the University's Planned Giving program and are expected to make a substantial contribution to the fundraising goals of the University.
This role will lead and manage a team whose focus is to identify, engage, cultivate and steward prospects that will support the University through bequests and major (lifetime) gifts. The incumbent is responsible for:

  • team management
  • prospect identification and portfolio management
  • strategic direction, analysis and reporting
  • complex project and stakeholder management relating to marketing and communications and lead generation activities.

  • has experience leading a team and can manage and drive team performance
  • has extensive background in major gift fundraising, with a demonstrated ability to identify and cultivate $1 million plus gift opportunities

  • has strong leadership skills with the ability to lead with credibility and influence
  • Can engage internal and external stakeholders while managing opportunities, issues and risks
  • encourages the adoption of appropriate methodologies and tools to understand current challenges and develop solutions
  • ensures that the right processes are in place to support the delivery of quality services
  • ensures that communications are in a manner that is tailored for the target audience
  • has highly developed emotional intelligence - you are self-aware with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • can work autonomously and is naturally a high achiever
  • can coach both junior and senior development colleagues
  • has superior time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills.
