About you
Commercial Pilot Licence or Airline Transport Pilot Licence
Hold a multi-engine aeroplane class rating
Have at least 500 hours flight time on the PC12 or substantially similar type of aeroplane, and
At least 6 months experience in the conduct or management of air operations under an AOC or equivalent foreign authorisation
Have a satisfactory record in the conduct or management of air transport operations for at least six months
Have sufficient safety and regulatory knowledge to enable RFDS to conduct its Australian air transport operations safely and in accordance with this OMS and the civil aviation legislation
At least two years of similar operational experience in air transport operations
Conscientious, hardworking and flexible with a results-focussed mindset
Inclusive and respectful leadership qualities, in line with RFDS WO Values
Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with and mentor others
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written and when presenting
Ability to maintain composure and find solutions to changing circumstances
A person of integrity, honesty, and a genuine interest in the welfare of others
About the role
Working closely with and at the direction of the HOFO
Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with all relevant legislation and the OMS, by personnel appropriately qualified and licensed for their duties
Review scheduling and rostering of crew to ensure rostering and fatigue management
Monitor operational standards of crew
Ensure that every flight is strictly in accordance with the terms, conditions, and limitations of the aviation insurance policies
Monitoring the use of MELs and PUs
Maintain a complete and up to date reference library of operational documents as required by CASA for the scope of operations conducted
Maintain a system to record pilot duty and flight time to ensure compliance with any specified duty and flight time limitations
Ensure up-to-date records of the qualifications of crew are maintained in accordance with section record keeping and management
Supervise and participating in induction and recurrency training in accordance with training policy
Ensure compliance with loading procedures specified for each aircraft type, including proper compilation if loading documents such as passenger and cargo manifests
Maintain a list of delegations issued to personnel
Arrange and compiling amendments to the OMS
Maintain an effective liaison with CASA
Actively support and promote the SQMS/FRMS
Ensure that they and their personnel comply with the SQMS/FRMS processes and procedures
Ensure resources are made available to achieve the outcomes of the SQMS/FRMS and continually monitor their area of responsibility
Communicate with visible endorsement to all personnel, the safety policy, goals and objectives
Promote a positive safety culture, and actively encouraging personnel to report errors, safety deficiencies, hazards, accidents, and incidents and employing a no-fault system
In consultation with the HOTAC develop, manage and maintain the dangerous goods manual
Oversee the Pilot Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP)

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe.
