SalaryA high profile, end user organization with significant capital reserves have appointed us to search and select a client-side Design Manager for their inhouse Capital Projects delivery team. This high performing Perth based operational facility has a capital project spend of up to $200m/year across a large variety of building and infrastructure projects as well as some upcoming major projects between $100m – 2.5bn.

- Salary guide: $135 – 195k pkg incl 10% bonus (commensurate with experience)
Role: The Design Manager will take projects from conception to construction tender documentation stage where the project is then handed over to a Project Manager. This blue chip facility is known for their varied funky building and infrastructure projects using cutting edge technology and renewables in a rewarding environment where all ideas are supported, providing the staff great job satisfaction. This is a self-managing role where work-life balance is encouraged, often enforced!
Criteria for the Design Manager:
- 7+ years experience in design coordination / management or client-side Project Manager roles
- 7+ years experience in commercial building / civil infrastructure sectors
- Proven Design Management experience otherwise employment longevity served as either an Architectural Technician, Architect, Structural Engineer, Design Consultant or Design Coordinator and ready for the step up to Design Manager
- Experience in writing scopes and briefs and then manage the consultants outputs knowing the level of detail required
- Determination of design deliverables experience
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Tertiary qualified in architecture, engineering or construction management
- The right to work in Australia
- Perth based or enroute within 4 weeks
