The Role
As the Development Manager, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and delivering new housing developments and asset redevelopments. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role is pivotal to CHL’s strategic direction and offers a unique blend of professional challenge and social impact.
Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Development: Work closely with the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Development Officer to formulate and execute portfolio development and growth strategies.
• Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and assess new development opportunities aligned with CHL’s mission.
• Risk Mitigation: Conduct thorough project evaluations to identify and mitigate risks.
• Project Coordination: Lead cross functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Financial Management: Oversee project budgets and collaborate with the Finance department for effective accounting.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across government, nonprofit, and private sectors.

About You
To be successful for this role, we’re looking for a someone who is adept at leading high performing teams, a strategic thinker with a strong commitment to social justice and quality housing.
Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role within property development, housing, project management or related field.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in property development or related discipline highly desirable.
• Strong communicator with proven experience in developing relationships and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• High level conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing.

• Proficiency in project software and advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office.

• Satisfactory Police and Working with Children’s Check.
