I'm delighted to be partnering with my client, a leading renewable energy company based in Sydney, in looking for two Project Development Managers to develop key wind infrastructure projects in NSW. This role is working for a privately owned organisation which is growing exponentially based on exceptional client relationships and proven project delivery. We are looking for an experienced Project Development Manager that wants to work for a boutique developer that encourages innovation and new ideas that is dedicated to developing their employees. The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or regional NSW and flexible working is encouraged.
The successful candidate will drive the development of our client's wind portfolio performing tasks like:
- Evaluation of utility-scale renewable generation prospects, emphasising wind energy, involving thorough due diligence on prospective targets and preparing business cases;
- Acting as the primary liaison with partners and external stakeholders during project development phases;
- Cultivating and overseeing relationships with landholders and engaging local communities effectively;
- Contracting and overseeing external consultants for essential tasks such as planning, grid connection studies, and other pivotal development aspects to facilitate projects towards Final Investment Decision (FID);
- Contributing to turbine selection in collaboration with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the Tetris commercial team;
- Proactively addressing and resolving challenges as they arise.
- Relevant academic qualification (e.g. commerce, engineering, environmental, planning, etc.);
- Proven background in renewable energy development or a relevant field such as investment, wind engineering, statutory or environmental planning.
- Proficiency in stakeholder management (e.g., landowners, consultants, investors).
- Demonstrated aptitude in project management, encompassing the development and implementation of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience operating within the energy markets in Australia.
- Robust analytical abilities, including a track record in financial analysis and project valuation.
- Exceptional communication skills with a capacity to function autonomously or collaboratively within teams, coupled with experience in cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
