Job DescriptionAbout the InstituteLocated on Gadigal and Bidjigal land (Randwick NSW), Black Dog Institute is the only Medical Research Institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the full lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone. Desired Skills and ExperienceThe RoleThe Digital Learning and Design lead is responsible for providing education resource development and digital capability to the Black Dog Institute's (BDI) Implementation & Operations Directorate. Supporting the Resource Development Manager, the role will be responsible for the development and customisation of computer-based training programs (CBT) as well as managing BDI's Learning Management System. Developing training solutions with exceptional user experience that meet the specific needs of internal and external clients.Duties & ResponsibilitiesClient Liaison
  • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal clients at all levels of business. Learning and Development
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to analyse and identify learning needs to develop and/ or customise existing materials.
  • Manage the end-to-end instructional design role that includes storyboarding and implementation of computer-based training materials.
  • Work with subject matter experts to scope, Design and develop new and engaging learning activities and assessments for computer based training (CBT) that apply adult learning principles and reflect appreciation of diverse audiences.
  • Provide advice on educational concepts, delivery modalities, and instructional design as required to projects/research containing educational components.
Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Administer and manage the Learning Management System
  • Develop and promote continuous improvement of the LMS
  • Continuously identify opportunities to progress the service offering and to maintain high quality user experience
Skills & Experience RequiredEssential Criteria
  • Tertiary qualification in adult education, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or considerable relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in developing storyboards and content with evidence of applied best practice adult learning methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Articulate authoring tool for both Storyline and Rise.
  • Knowledge of SCORM content Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative and cost-effective Digital Learning solutions and user experiences suited to diverse audience groups.
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive process with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines on multiple projects, with the ability to be proactive and use initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to external and internal clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector
  • Coding skills e.g. HTML
