The Cabinet, Legislation and Liaison Office in the DJAG provides the highest quality support to the offices of the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence and the Director-General in regard to the administrative processes associated with Cabinet.
As our Director and CLLO, you will be required to demonstrate a high degree of discretion and collaborate strategically across various departmental areas. You'll lead the CLLO Office, ensuring key stakeholders receive top-tier liaison and executive services for Cabinet functions.
As the Director and CLLO, you will steer the cabinet functions for the department and oversee the management of the discharge of the Attorney-General's Cabinet business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- briefing senior departmental officers, the office of the Director-General and staff of the Attorney-General's office, on emergent and critical Cabinet issues so that they are aware of timely matters, requiring immediate attention.
- liaising with senior officers on the preparation of Cabinet briefs, Cabinet and Cabinet committee submissions, and other related executive government activities, to ensure that they meet corporate and ministerial requirements.
- Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of initiative, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- undertaking policy analysis around Cabinet matters and preparing associated briefs, reports and coordinating whole-of-department responses to Cabinet discussion papers within the portfolio.
- Build effective professional relationships and establish high levels of credibility with senior executive stakeholders.
- represent DJAG at meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups as DJAG's CLLO and expert on Cabinet matters.
The incumbent may, from time to time, be required to work out of normal business hours and on weekends.
