Collins Executive Recruitment has been exclusively engaged to appoint a Distribution Director for a reputable and fast-growing Boutique Real Estate fund manager based in Melbourne CBD.
Due to continued business growth and a pipeline of exciting investment opportunities, my client is looking to appoint a Director of Distribution to lead the fund's capital-raising efforts.
They currently manage several funds, including a Development fund, a Mortgage Fund and an SIV fund. Their existing investor base is mainly wholesale investors, but they occasionally partner with institutional investors. Their typical cheque size is $25m to $50m.
The opportunity:
As the Distribution Director, you will assume a pivotal role within the company.
Leveraging your existing relationships and cultivating new connections with wholesale investors, financial planners, accountants, and wealth management groups—the role is instrumental in driving exponential growth and enhancing their market presence.
This position presents an exceptional opportunity for a strategic and results-driven professional to spearhead the expansion of their wholesale investor base.
Upon successful hire, you will:
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to expand their wholesale investor base.
- Harness existing networks and forge new alliances within the financial community, showcasing their contributory mortgage fund's unique value proposition and competitive advantages.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align distribution strategies with overarching business objectives, continuously adapting to market dynamics and emerging opportunities.
- Lead engaging presentations, workshops, and networking events to educate and captivate potential investors, effectively communicating the compelling benefits of their investment products.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the fund's primary point of contact and ambassador, nurturing trust and confidence in their offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment of strategies, driving collective efforts toward achieving sales targets.
- Assist in the preparation of Investment Information Memorandums to raise capital.
- Upsell/cross-sell related financial products within the group to key stakeholders and external clients.
- Participate in PCG meetings as required.
- 10-20 years experience in banking, funds management, financial planning, distribution or a related field.
- Experience in sales, relationship management, or business development within the financial sector.
- Existing relationships with wholesale investors.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at articulating complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, capable of devising innovative approaches to drive business growth and surpass sales objectives.
- Strong analytical capabilities, proficient in market research, and adept at leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, business, or a related field are highly advantageous.
- A transparent and uncapped bonus structure, calculated as a percentage of funds successfully raised.
- The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to share in the business's success through a profit-sharing agreement, demonstrating the company's commitment to recognising and rewarding your contribution to the company's success.
