Why your role matters
As the Director, Career Accelerator and Student Engagement (CASE) you will have an instrumental role in the UNSW Business School leading the Career Development Learning (CDL) and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Strategy of the faculty.
Key to your success will be creating and strengthening partnerships with industry, expanding the number and depth of CDL and WIL offerings to all students and systematically embedding employability into the curriculum.
This is a boundary spanning role that oversees CASE operations and industry engagement for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including offerings.
Whilst delivering CDL and WIL at scale builds on a strong operational model, the role requires strong collaboration, product development, business development, strategic thinking and communication skills across the Business School, the University and externally.
As the Director, CASE, you will also oversee the faculty's major student lifecycle initiatives including: O-Week and onboarding activities, faculty affiliated Student Clubs & Societies, Awards & Prizes recognition events, major student community events and student communications.
The role of Director, CASE reports to the Senior Deputy Dean (Education & Student Experience) with a dotted line to the Senior Deputy Dean and Director, AGSM, and has a people leader element managing three teams, all focused on different components of the student lifecycle.
This position is based in Kensington, New South Wales, Australia.
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and management expertise, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Australian and the Asia-Pacific graduate employment market.
- Deep domain expertise in Career Development Learning (CDL) and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and its application across audience engagement, diverse commercial enterprises and the public sector.
- Demonstrated strategic capability and experience in the design, development and integration of relevant experiential learning offerings in a large and complex organisation and regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and engender a strong customer service philosophy and culture.
- Sound understanding of practices, policies and procedures, in a large and complex organization, with strong consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to build effective relationships and secure resources from diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in developing, delivering and continually improving processes and systems, at scale, including change management processes.
