In this role, you'll:
Join the Road Maintenance & Motorways Partnership Branch and provide Asset Management expertise and apply your knowledge to some of Transport’s most iconic transport infrastructure projects, including the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and Western Harbour Tunnel.
With population in Sydney expected to grow from five million to eight million in the next 40 years, improvements to existing transport networks, and the creation of new transport connections, will be essential to meet the growing needs of our communities. To manage this growth, Transport has signed a long-term contract with an industry partner for the Asset Management, operation and maintenance of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel (SHT) and future Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT). Working as part of an integrated team across divisions, the WHT & SHT Asset Management team is responsible for assuring the safe and efficient operation of these iconic assets, applying innovative solutions to ensure Asset Management and optimisation opportunities are captured and delivered.
You will leverage your technical prowess and commercial expertise to ensure best-practice delivery of Asset Management and operations for existing contracts, ensuring delivery of whole-of-life benefits.
This role will see you managing a team of Asset Management professionals whilst helping to build a team culture that encourages a diversity of thought, idea sharing, trust and a focus on quality. You will work closely with your team to develop and implement contracts and organisational asset and services plans that consider the long-term service requirements and provide best-value.
You will also foster and maintain working relationships with teams across Transport and externally, providing strategic advice across operations, maintenance and asset lifecycles to ensure optimum whole-of-life asset performance and value for money.
This is an ongoing (permanent) Transport Senior Service (TSSE1A) role offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you
A self-starter and adaptable in nature, you’re a skilful communicator and resilient collaborator, keen to bring your strong working knowledge of Asset Management and contract management to help Transport deliver Australia’s biggest transport infrastructure program.
You work collaboratively with others to deliver results and drive a culture of achievement, building strong working relationships whilst upholding Transport’s best interests and utilising your knowledge of emerging technology and trends to develop practical solutions in line to meet Transports expectations.
To be successful in this role, you can demonstrate:
Technical expertise in asset and operations management of road tunnel assets.
Experience in large-scale projects or operations, and/or management of strategic, complex contracts.
Success in managing a multi-disciplinary team with an ability to set objectives, measure performance, motivate, lead people and projects, and achieve corporate goals and objectives.
Have Tertiary qualifications in engineering, commerce, business or relevant disciplines.
