AddressOverview:
Our participant is a mid-40-year-old male, who has recently sustained a Spinal Cord Injury due to a motor vehicle accident. As a result of the accident, our participant has limited functional mobility in his lower body but is able to use his wheelchair and transfer himself independently. Our participant also at increased risk of Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE) and is also diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. He is very friendly and has a great attitude, he enjoys fishing, football, seeing family, attending local events and church on Sunday's. He is eager to have supports who can assist him with achieving his goals, assisting with rehab exercises and gaining back his independence.
Tasks and Duties:
- Bowel Therapy - enema administration & digital stimulation (not required as much anymore, however, something that may be an occasional requirement)
- Wound care - skin checks
- Personal Care - showering, grooming, hygiene etc
- Verbal Prompting
- Manual Handling - Sara Steady, transfers etc
- Domestic care - cleaning, washing, meal preparation etc
- Medication Administration
- Transportation - community access, health related appointments, social events etc
- Scheduling & Task Management
- Daily Monitoring & Reporting of his current health conditions
- Companionship & Capacity Building
