As a Disability Support Worker at Rise, you will work alongside our wonderful clients to develop skills and capacity that promote independent living in their supported accommodation homes. You will enable clients to identify and achieve their aspirations/goals and use a combination of a person centred, strengths based, role modelling and mentoring approach. Additionality, you will report on progress, achievements, and concerns.
This is a permanent, part-time position with 23.5 hours spread over a fortnight, based in one of our residential homes in Swan View. Please only apply if you can commit longer term to the below hours.
Shifts will look like….
Week 1: Tuesday (active night shift) 9.45pm – 6.15am & Friday 2.30pm – 10.00pm.
Week 2: Friday 2.30pm – 10.00pm.
???? The need-to-have…
You will need to come with a minimum of 2 years’, hands-on experience in a Disability Support Worker role, an ability to manage and support challenging behaviours (ideally within a residential setting) and have experience working with clients who have complex support needs. You will have demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and assessment of plans that support a person to achieve their goals in a Disability Supported living environment.
Additionally, you will bring….
A qualification in Human Services, (e.g. Disability, Allied Health, Community Services).
Extensive knowledge of the NDIS, & behaviour support.
Well-developed, positive communication skills (verbal & written).
A current First Aid Certificate.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, discernment, and judgement while maintaining professional boundaries.
