Job description
Being a Support Worker, you will be supporting our participants with daily household tasks; participating in community activities and helping them to develop living independently in their own homes. We strive to make our participants’ lives much easier through enthusiastic support workers who enjoy assisting others’ needs
Key Duties:
Working within the NDIS Code of Conduct
Supporting clients with wheelchairs, using hoists if required
Assist our participants with personal care: including bathing, dressing, dental hygiene
Household tasks: including assistance such as cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment for our participants.
Access to community: including driving participants to appointments or participating in community activities.
Successful Candidates:
Must have attributes of a Support Worker; empathy, patience and understanding
Must be an excellent listener that communicates in a clear and genuine manner
Must be flexible to different environments and needs to our participants, able to work independently
Must treat others with respect
Enthusiastic to learn – full training will be provided as well as ongoing training and support
Must be capable with constant lifting, bending, and carrying
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Requirements:
Current Yellow Disability Card (QLD) or be willing to apply for one
Current Australian Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
Police Check
Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Experience is not mandatory – Training will be provided
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
