About the Role
RSPCA WA has an exciting opportunity for a confident, professional, and personable individual to join our team in a frontline position coordinating our Dog Training program.
RSPCA WA’s Dog Training program delivers classes to members of the general public, in accordance with the RSPCA national guidelines, principles and curriculum. While Dog Trainers are responsible for running and coordinating their classes once the course has commenced, they are supported by the Dog Training Coordinator who oversees a central booking and communications database.
This role not only helps bring valuable funds into the shelter in support of all of the animals RSPCA WA works with, it also helps reduce the likelihood of animals finding their way into a shelter by helping owners form a stronger bond with their pet, and ensuring pets are set up to succeed in a home.
The Dog Training Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of RSPCA WA’s Dog Training program, contractors, and volunteers. This role includes but is not limited to:
- Primary responsibility for the administrative, customer service and procedural components of the Dog Training program.
- Day to day oversight of contractors, trainers, suppliers, relevant authorities, and volunteers.
- Identification of new trainers, locations, and opportunities for expansion of the program.
- Identify and implement promotional activities to attract new clients and trainers to the program.
- Ensure financial and numerical targets are met across the program.

- Appropriate qualifications or extensive experience in a relevant field (e.g., Dog Training and/or customer service).
- Exceptional customer service that will encourage customers to be advocates of RSPCA WA, including experience with handling complaints and solving problems.
- Sound interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to liaise at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a stressful environment.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
- Strong experience with database program experience and MS Office, and capability to quickly learn new systems.
