Salary: £33,966 to £36,024 with progression to £44,263 per annum

In line with continuing to deliver on our EDI commitment, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join our team of EDI professionals and lead on the development and delivery of EDI training at the University.
As EDI Training Lead, you will lead on the scoping, design, delivery and evaluation of a suite of EDI training for colleagues. Working with a range of Professional Services and academic colleagues from EDI Leads, People Services, and Organisational Development, you will play a vital role in building knowledge and understanding of key EDI issues across the University, empowering colleagues to embed EDI into their daily practice and contributing to our long-standing commitment to EDI.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead on the scoping, development, delivery and evaluation of a suite of EDI related training for a range of University stakeholders, including Active Bystander and Unconscious Bias training
  • Explore, investigate, and identify the most appropriate means of training delivery, for example, online, face-to-face, and/or blended
  • Lead on the development and evaluation of a range of training materials, including online materials
  • Tailor training delivery to meet the needs of the audience and context, for example, adjusting training delivery to meet organisational needs
  • Work closely with EDI Leads and engage with a range of stakeholders across the University to identify EDI training needs across a range of services
  • Lead on the development and implementation of strategies to promote and communicate EDI training programmes and manage all aspects of attendee engagement, including monitoring take-up and programme completion rates
  • Lead on the planning, delivery, and evaluation of EDI events and activities, in collaboration with EDI Leads, including the development of interventions arising from accreditation work (e.g. Athena Swan, Race Equality Charter)
  • Act as an internal consultant, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues developing EDI training for other colleagues and students across the University, including within Faculties, Schools, and Institutes. This will include advising on embedding EDI into existing University training
  • Ensure the design and delivery of EDI training is done on time and within budget, and that any commissioning of external training is done in line with the University’s procurement requirements and represents value for money
  • Identify, capture, and analyse appropriate data to provide insights to support the development and delivery of EDI training across the University
  • Identify key performance indicators and develop methods of data capture to evaluate the success of EDI training
  • Lead on all aspects of stakeholder engagement to ensure EDI training is appropriately informed, including developing and undertaking surveys and focus groups. This will include engaging with the University’s EDI networks
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in Organisational Development and People Services, as well as with external partners/organisations, to ensure EDI training is joined up and compliments/informs other training delivered at the University
  • The post will report into the Head of EDI and work closely/liaise with the Director of People Engagement and Culture and the Dean of EDI. The post will also work with colleagues in Organisational Development and a range of academic and Professional Services colleagues that make up our EDI Leads to contribute to the overall delivery of the University’s EDI strategy
  • Any other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience of leading on the design, delivery and evaluation of training relating to EDI and/or cultural change within a complex organisation
  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to deliver training including online and virtual learning
  • Experience of tailoring and delivering training to a range of stakeholders with varying levels of seniority and with different needs and levels of understanding
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the key EDI issues, legislation, and good practice and a track record of success in promoting EDI
  • Experience in influencing culture change and working on projects that have had a demonstrable impact on the culture and values of organisations
  • Evidence of successful project management within a complex organisation
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills, proven ability to use metrics and data to support critical thinking and improvement of the service
  • Thorough understanding of employee engagement and practical experience of working on engagement activities, including the use of surveys and focus groups
  • Evidence of and passion for engendering an inclusive working environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to engage colleagues at all levels and respond sensitively to a range of views
  • Excellent IT skills

Qualifications
  • Professional qualification in relation to training, development, organisational development, project management or EDI or relevant professional experience
