About the role

We are currently seeking a motivated Engineer to join our thriving and dynamic Melbourne Electrical Team. The role is ideally suitable for a candidate who is in the last year of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or just completed study.

The successful candidate will have a good grounding for basic electrical principles and be looking to further develop their role and responsibilities in design of the building services. The successful applicant will be expected to manage components of work on larger scale building services projects under the supervision of a Senior Engineer for support and guidance. Independent working and commitment to deadlines, with an ability to support our senior and project managers on a number of projects at different stages of completion are key attributes.

This role will enable the successful applicant to develop in a professional and personal sense, and to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a successful company.

Day to day tasks would involve with support from mentor:

  • Lead the implementation of an effective and efficient project administration.
  • Follow project specific commissioning processes using business commissioning frameworks and templates.
  • Follow outcomes-based commissioning process set by the project commissioning plan.
  • Ensure risk and quality management governance are appropriately managed in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Support the project team in wide capacity for commissioning.
  • Bring value to in-house design/project meetings.
  • Contribute to our company culture.
  • Adhere to professional standards, ethics and quality procedures.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Administrative or secretarial skills
  • Evaluation skills
  • An eye for detail and the ability to spot errors and omissions at a glance
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • The ability to learn quickly and master internal contracts management systems
  • The ability to manage competing demands and work well under pressure
