Full time, Fixed Term until 31 December 2024, with the possibility of extensionExciting opportunity to assist students with career journeyBase Salary HEO6, $95,860 - $103,341 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe at the University of Sydney are seeking an Employability Officer to facilitate optimum career and employment outcomes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students during their studies and upon graduation.This role will provide students with workshops and advice relating to job search and job applications and will refer students to the Career Development Officers for advice related to career planning and development.Your key responsibilities will be to:deliver career skills workshops to students and groups for both undergraduate and postgraduate, tailored to faculty and school needs as requiredprovide individual careers advice as the first point of contact for students seeking assistance with job search and job applicationsliaise with faculty and university contacts for the delivery of career skills activities and make recommendations to the Career Development Officers and the Career Development Manager on new careers skills workshops, activities and resources for studentsdevelop and maintain employer and industry contacts to ensure services are relevant to the employment market and to involve employers in career skills workshopsmarket programs and services to students and faculties through a range of methods and within available resourcesmaintain relevant professional links, such as membership of NAGCAS (National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) and ensure best practice exemplars are developed within the Careers Centremaintain awareness of major learning and teaching initiatives within the university and ensure that educational programs reflect and complement these activities.About youdemonstrated working experience in delivering and evaluating career skills workshopsexperience in providing job search and application advice, with experience dealing with students in a tertiary environmenthighly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skillsunderstanding of graduate labour market with experience working in a field related to graduate employment outside of education, or international work experiencestrong teamwork and collaborative skills, coupled with the ability to work independently.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Pre-employment checksYour employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
