About the role
We are seeking a permanent Employee Relations Manager to be accountable for managing all employee relation matters in Australia.
This role will strongly suit a candidate with significant prior experience in Employment Law within Financial Services, comfortable in working autonomously in a stand-alone role to build out frameworks and policies, whilst partnering with HR and all levels of seniority across the business with all Workplace Relations matters.
Top Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the HR business Partners to understand the needs and Employee Relations challenges within the respective client groups.
  • Manage all informal and formal employee grievances, in accordance with relevant standards and policies. Including but not limited to: management of complex matters from managing poor performance, misconduct issues, bullying/harassment.
  • Identify trends and insights from repeatable issues and recommend solutions and interventions to mitigate risks.
  • Advise people leaders on employment related risk associated with workplace matters.
  • Assist Senior Legal Counsel in responding to external tribunals in circumstances where external complaints are made.
  • Coach and guide people leaders on procedurally fair processes to mitgate risk and deliver training sessions where uplift in capability is required.
  • Provide advice and support to HRBP’s on all restructure processes and consultation.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Significant prior experience in Employee Relations / Employment Law within Financial Services
  • Solid understanding of Fair work and BFI legislation
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in best practice investigative processes and trauma informed processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels of an organisation – entry level to CEO
  • Candidates who have operated in an autonomous or stand-alone environment with experience in building out frameworks and processes is desirable
