As the Employee Relations Manager - Compliance, you will report to the Head of Employee Relations. You will be responsible for supporting a number of compliance related matters as well as initiatives to review, streamline and simplify existing arrangements.
This role plays a vital part in fostering a positive work environment and minimising legal risks associated with Employee Relations matters. It is a newly created role to support the Heads of Employee Relations deliver on a number of key compliance matters and strategic pieces of work.
The role offers some scope for the successful candidate to define it, however the primary focus of the role will involve:
Advice of compliance matters including wage compliance reviews and activities arising from recent legislative changes as well as support on reviewing, streamlining and simplifying existing arrangements under policies, contracts and industrial instruments.
Train and update key stakeholders on compliance issues and process changes.
Review and assess compliance gaps, risks, and improvement initiatives, as well as lead related projects with stakeholder collaboration.
Interpret and provide guidance on employee matters and legislative requirements.
Your background:
Legal qualifications and employment law experience (preferably in-house) will be highly regarded.
Employee relations experience.
Experience in a regulated, financial, or legal organisation preferred.
Knowledge of relevant workplace legislation, regulations and enterprise agreements.
Ability to work on all aspects of the role (including getting involved in the detail).
Ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Your team:
You will be part of a small specialist team providing a significant positive impact for the Bank. You will be led by two Heads of Employee Relations with a strategic focus. They will work closely to support you in your role where needed.
You will also be part of an engaging and collaborative Human Resources team, a group of specialists in their own areas of expertise with a similar goal to deliver the best outcomes for the Bank.
