Working as trusted partner with job seekers and local employers, and as an advocate for an inclusive and diverse workforce, the organisation creates bespoke recruitment and training solutions to support Western Australians who face personal barriers and considerable challenges entering the workforce and maintaining a job.
About the role:
As an Employment Consultant, you will form part of a team that get a real buzz out of helping people develop and achieve their end goal of gaining further skills and sustainable employment.
You will manage and mentor your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome various barriers that have been preventing them from gaining employment, and working with local employers to find innovative ways to support your clients into work.
You will be professional and able to work within procedural guidelines, using a database to log detailed notes, and create progress reports on each client. In addition, you will be required to source job opportunities for your clients within the local community through business development activities and networking. The role is targeted and has KPIs around sustainable job placements that meet clients’ needs and expectations.
These positions are offered on a full-time basis and are based in Subiaco,
In addition to a base salary and super, successful candidates will be entitled to tax savings through salary packaging, and will have the option to work a 9-day fortnight.
As you will occasionally be required to use your own vehicle to attend marketing appointments and candidate interviews, a car allowance is also provided.
To be successful you should have:
- 12 to 18 months’ experience in a similar role in Disability Employment Services
- The ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process
- Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity and compassion
- A results and outcome focused approach and the ability to work to KPIs and targets
- Excellent time management and organisational ability
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Any experience working within the employment services sector, within Jobactive,
- An insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing neuro-diverse people, and this living with a permanent disability
- Excellent networking skills and be willing to conduct business development activities with local business and community organisations
- The ability to obtain a clear check police and working with children’s check
- A driver’s licence and your own vehicle.
