Our Australia business has a growing presence with deep relationships with regulators and leading players across the industry. We are searching for qualified Associates & Engagement Manager candidates, for strategy consulting roles working broadly across financial services for our business and are looking for candidates with relevant work experience preferably in Financial Services or management consulting
The Practice:
To support its ongoing growth, Oliver Wyman is seeking extraordinary individuals with deep expertise in finance and experience in team management to become Managers in its Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Practice. This is an industry leading practice with clients containing the majority of Top Tier Investment Banks.
The CIB Practice advises senior executives in investment banking, capital markets, large corporate banking, asset management, hedge funds and exchanges on a wide range of strategy issues. Macro- and micro-analyses are combined to provide a unique perspective on these evolving businesses. Oliver Wyman is widely recognized as an influential thought-leader in the commercial and Institutional Banking segment. Drawing on our deep knowledge of our clients' businesses, as well as our own in-depth industry research and analysis, we focus on developing sustainable strategies for our clients to support their businesses in their ongoing evolution
Key Responsibilities:
Our consulting roles offer excellent career and growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals with relevant prior experience. As a professional member of our firm, your initial responsibilities will include:
- Managing the execution of individual project modules. This typically includes developing hypotheses, managing data collection, model creation and analyses, conducting primary and secondary research, creatively tackling information limitations, and surfacing insights.
- Supporting our Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high quality case execution
- Owning and developing executive client relationships, presenting to a wide range of audiences, and working day-to-day with clients and other stakeholders.
Experience Required:
Just as every client project is different, we recognize and value the diversity of backgrounds and skill sets for successful candidates. We are seeking high-caliber individuals who want to join our winning team. Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in project-based, team-oriented environments (5+ years)
- Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments
- In-depth knowledge of topics in capital markets, wealth and asset management, alternative investments and corporate banking, such as:
- Capital and liquidity risk management
- Financial product design and development
- Organizational design and post-merger integration
- Private equity due diligence
- Asset valuation and model validation
- Exposure to corporate organic and inorganic growth initiatives
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to apply depth of content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution
- Outstanding communication skills; comfort in presenting to senior executives, both internally and among clients
- Track record of leading and managing teams, and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding environments
- Ability to apply content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution, develop new intellectual capital to support business development activities
- Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program
- Willingness to travel
