The CompanyWe are supporting our client, one of Australia's largest food manufacturers, to find an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their R&M and support capital across their flagship site in Western Suburbs of Melbourne.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager and closely supporting their National Capital Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing engineering strategy with strong focus on quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence.
- Full budgetary responsibility across R&M spend and supporting role to capital spend.
- Lead & facilitate capital installation including planning, scoping, procurement & commissioning.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
- Lead, coach and co-ordinate the activities of the maintenance team to drive a preventative maintenance culture to provide excellent levels of machine availability and supply of utilities.
To be successful in this role you will have the following experience, traits and qualifications:
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline or the relevant Trade qualifications.
- Experience within manufacturing, ideally food, beverages, pharmaceutical or packaging.
- Excellent troubleshooting experience with the ability to understand, assess and work through and resolve maintenance issues.
- Proven experience in hands on Engineering leadership role with both R&M and capital responsibility.
- Experienced in maintenance planning with the ability to work with and understand CMMS systems.
