About the role
As an Engineering Manager, you play an important role as a technology leader across multiple engineering squads. You provide leadership, coaching, support, and act as an enabler to your mobile app squads to balance technology, delivery, and outcomes in alignment with the wider group's objectives. You will not only deliver and execute the product roadmap, but you will also run and maintain what has been built once delivered to production.
Role Responsibilities:
- You will manage 2-3 squads of app engineers that will collaborate to deliver solutions that are aligned with Coles business objectives.
- You will contribute to the roadmap and technical direction of the product.
- You will act as a service custodian of the solutions your squads will own and build.
- You will be accountable for individual and team compliance with company values, policies, and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.
About you and your skills:
You are someone who has deep experience in managing a high-performance teams & working in complex system architecture, operations, and support structures.
- Ideally at least 2 years' experience leading highly skilled mobile app engineering teams and delivering large programs of work.
- Ideally at least 5 years' experience in product development teams with a speciality in native mobile app development
- Experience to coach squads using agile methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience delivering outcomes as part of a cross-functional group with 3rd party vendors and integrators.
- Tertiary qualifications in a technology engineering discipline such as computer science, information systems engineering, etc.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Market knowledge and experience of delivery and management of technology solutions
